Dogs are wonderful creatures. There is not much that compares to sharing your life with a dog? Considering the amount of unconditional love and affection that a puppy or even an adult dog can give, They are definitely called Man’s Best Friend for a reason and I know alot can concur.

So we love dogs! however, if you are a new dog owner you sometimes wish that new puppies or adult dogs came with a switch that you could turn to: housetrain!

Well, no such luck. Dogs are animals, and if not taught will retain their un-domesticated animal instincts to do their business whenever they want. Yes your four-legged friend will “go” in the middle of the walkway, when you’re entire dinner party is over.

So, the concern is to potty train your dog in as little time as possible. You can learn simple tactics to potty train your dog at a quick pace regardless of age and long-standing habits.

Ok, first things first. You can train your dog at any age. However, starting at a younger age will give you a better chance as even unruly pups will retain good habits faster than adult dogs. This is just because of the old habits that adult dogs may have. These habits will be a little harder to break.

Even new dog owners always recognizes that usually the approximate time frame for a dog to go potty is about 15-20mins after they have eaten or drank. That’s just how it works with dogs. So be smart about your dog’s feeding times. The best thing is to feed them (eat or drink) when you know that you will have time to take them out to do their business. Also, never punish your dog for your mistakes. If you have to leave your home and you feed them before you leave then expect that they will go.

Be patient with your dog, it only complicates things when you get angry and over aggressive when your dog does not turn overnight. Always express affection to your dog just the same. Encourage them and show respect even if they don’t get it quickly. Try to make the learning entertaining and fun. Put a light perspective on the training.

Your dog will be very confused if you have the Dr. Jekyll, Mr Hyde syndrome overnight. When he fails to comply, clean up the mess in a civil manner, without giving him any hints of anger.

Potty Train Your Dog the Easy Way

One of the most dreaded tasks required of a dog lover, is potty training their dogs.

Not only will it make the house smell, it could also damage the carpet or other things of value in the house.

Potty training is not as difficult as it seem.  Even though it’s a lengthy procedure, at the end, it’s worth it.

For most dogs, it’s easier to potty train them as puppies. However, adult dogs can still be potty trained, but it will take extra effort and patience.

To start potty training them, the simplest method is the newspaper method.

This method has been proven to be very successful and one of the most effective.  To those thinking, “I’ve tried or thought about that type of potty training,” did you stick with it long enough to give it a chance to work?

If not, follow along and give it another try, it really works!

To start potty training your dog, find a suitable place in the house, maybe by the back door.  Place a lot of newspaper there and every hour or so, place the dog on the newspaper and tell him to do the toilet, or whatever command you want it to be.

Sooner or later, (yes maybe later than you like), the dog will begin to do their business.  Repeat the process every hour, especially after the dog has slept and ate.  After each successful potty training, praise your dog with a treat or something similar.

Also, make sure to keep a close eye on the dog when they’re roaming the house during potty training. You may be in for a little treat yourself otherwise.

In a few days or so, the dog will remember where to go to do their business.  This is when you can start to move the newspaper outside, or atleast closer to the way out.  When the dog comes again to where the newspaper used to be, move the dog outside to where the newspaper is.

After a couple times or so, the dog will know he has to go outside to do his business.

Potty training your dog is not something that can be done overnight.  Look how long it takes a child to learn.

Some dogs will take longer than others so you must be patience, just like you would with your child.

Remember to never yell at your dog when you see them doing their business at the wrong place.  This will only make them scared, which will make potty training your dog longer.

With a lot of hard work and determination, you can teach your dog anything, especially potty training.

Potty training your dog is just a step toward another accomplishment in your dog’s life.  Start to train them when they’re young and make sure they receive lots of treats and praise.

You’ll be amazed just how far a loving relationship with your best friend will take you.  Remember, they’re apart of your family to.

When learning how to potty train a dog you must first realize that you have to be prepared to continue training your pet all the way through. You need to be committed. Also, you should have a leash and a designated area for going to the bathroom. It should only take about two weeks to have a routine established but if you are training a dog that already has bad habits it could take up to five or six weeks.

Make sure your puppy is completely healthy because urinary tract infections and parasites can prevent you from being able to house train your dog. The area that you choose should be outside and it doesn’t have to be somewhere too specific but it can be if you wish. When potty training a dog, your attitude and presence is perhaps the most important factor. You must be assertive and dominant. YOU are the leader of the pack, remember dogs are pack animals like wolves and they need a leader to follow. If you become that leader, they will constantly want your acceptance. Let your dog know when he/she does something wrong. Do not hit your dog! You can not be the source of pain, you just need to let him know you’re unhappy with him/her.

And the opposite side of the coin is also important. When your dog does the right thing and shows that he/she wants to please you, give it praise. Potty training is a great foundation for the rest of the training your dog will undergo in the future.

•Consistency is the key. It may take a lot of effort on your part but being consistent will help a lot in potty training your dog. Training your dog today and then allowing him to urinate on the rug the next day will not teach him to urinate in the proper area.

Potty training a dog is one of the first things every dog owner faces. Many times it is harder than it sounds and owners get frustrated when they really should not be. Here are a few ideas that will help you with potty training that you can start right away with.

You want to make sure that your dog is eating healthy meals with out sugar and fiber. Make sure that you do not feed your dogs treats in between meals. By giving your dog healthy food it will help them with there teeth and there coat.

When you do find the healthy food for your dog be sure you stick to a good routine for them on when they eat and go to the bathroom.

When you and your dog wake in the morning take them out to go the bathroom. Then feed your dog at the same time and put some water next to the food. After about thirty minutes take your dog outside to the bathroom.

A lot of times dogs drink to much and that is why they have accidents in the home. You dog needs to stay on a routine and it will help them know when it is time to go outside to the bathroom.

Approximately twenty to thirty minutes after your dog eats it will be ready to have a bowel movement. Again get in a routine and take your dog outside to go to the bathroom. Using this routine will prevent accidents in your home.

If you have a specific spot you want your dog to go to the bathroom in your yard just take your dog on a leash to that spot every time and praise them every time they go. That will become their spot all of the time.

One command you can use is “Go potty!” and they should go. If they do not go right away go back in your house. Do not play with your dog or get them excited at all. Then in fifteen minutes take them out again and see if they will go. Be sure and praise them when you get the results you wanted.
